A Service-Learning Based Computers Reuse Program

Higher Education Institutions are facing a challenging situation: how to introduce concepts such as Sustainability or the Circular Economy into their curricula. This study presents organize Computer Reuse Program, an educational proposal for Reuse, Repair, Refurbishment, Remanufacture and Recycling of computers Curriculum case study. The is based in Service-Learning methodology, by which students develop technical professional skills while undertaking project that has direct real impact on society. Students work old broken provided donors, thereby acquiring skills. These now flawlessly functioning donated NGOs other non-profit organizations, thus endowing equipment with much longer life well reducing e-waste, one fastest-growing waste streams world.
